The displayed author name for each blog post you create can be changed to something different from your WordPress username. This can be helpful if you are looking to blog under a pseudonym, nickname, or are attempting to stay anonymous.
Your WordPress username cannot be changed. This article discusses how you can change the name displayed publicly and associated with your posts. The displayed name can be anything you want. You should keep in mind that this name will appear on all posts on every blog where an author name is included.
To change your displayed author name, go to the WP admin tab after logging in, and from there scroll down the dashboard till you see the tab “Users”. Under this tab go to “Your Profile” and click on it.
From here go to the name section and edit the “Display name publicly” portion of the form.
